As the hub of support for Make-A-Wish^® Southwestern Ontario in Windsor/Essex, we strive to make life a bit brighter for children with critical illness.

Ground Effects Ltd has been a proud supporter and sponsor for the Make-A-Wish Foundation since 2003. As a company we have raised over $1.9 million dollars through our annual Windsor-Essex Charity Golf Tournament to benefit Make-A-Wish Southwestern Ontario. Each year this annual tournament hosts over 200 golfers and a dedicated group of sponsors and donors.

The fundraising continues each year with our Annual Windsor-Essex Office BBQ Luncheon that is served by Ground Effects staff and Make-A-Wish Volunteers. Employees can also contribute through Payroll Deduction Programs, and through many internal events such as Volleyball Tournaments, and Make-A-Wish Rope for Hope event.

From 2004-2019, Ground Effects hosted the satellite office of Make-A-Wish Southwestern Ontario at our Head Office in Windsor. In 2019, the satellite office merged with the Children's Wish Foundation but the partnership is still going strong and we continue to raise funds to grant more wishes.

Make-A-Wish Canada is an independently operating affiliate of Make-A-Wish international. They create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, and are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. Make-A-Wish is the world’s leading children’s wish-granting organization, operating in 50 countries. Here in Canada, we serve children in every community from coast to coast to coast.

Since 1983, Make-A-Wish Canada has granted over 37,000 wishes across the country, over 1,000 last year alone.
